Seventh Generation Wine Farmer and Winemaker, Bernhard Bredell, started roaming the vineyards of Sinai Hill before he was tall enough to see over its bush vines. Vines were first planted on this plot of land 160 years ago by his ancestors when they arrived in South Africa. Bernhard eats, sleeps, and breathes this land, and after just a little bit of time exploring with him, it’s easy to feel as connected to it as he does.
60% Chenin Blanc, 28% Grenache Blanc, 7% Chardonnay, 5% Roussanne.
Granitas is a textural, layered white blend with vibrant acidity and depth. Expect ripe orchard fruits like pear and yellow apple, balanced by citrus zest and white peach. The granite soils lend a distinct mineral tension, while lees aging contributes a creamy mouthfeel and subtle notes of brioche. Grenache Blanc and Roussanne add hints of honeysuckle, fennel, and spice, rounding out the wine with richness and a long, elegant finish. Bright yet structured, this is a food-friendly wine with both freshness and complexity.
